Pink and white Hippeastrums blooming

Finally some of the Hippeastrum bulbs that I managed to recover have flowered.
Hippeastrum

I was quite surprised as the bulbs are still smallish and definitely nowhere near the size of the ones I had before when those flowered.
Hippeastrum
I have about twenty bulbs which are still small and might take a while to flower. But I assure you of one thing the are definitely worth the wait. Although these ones are clearly suffering a bit.

Mystery Plant: Ground Orchid with clusters of starshapped yellow flowers

This plant is some type of ground orchid. It has a leaf structure similar to Spathoglotis but the flowers are completely different and you can only see them if you look under the leaves as they are at the base of the plant.

I got this one from Malifa, rescuing it from the spot it was growing which was being dug up for a greenhouse where we were going to plant some heirloom tomatoes that we had grafted onto Maxifort tomato rootstock.

Mystery Plant with delicate leaf structure and vivid minature crimson flowers

I found one of these while weeding a bed of flowers for a memorial garden. I was instantly captivated by the leaves which are quite striking and delicate looking, a fact accentuated by their size. I vaguely recalled seeing a fence covered with these somewhere and remembered that they had tiny trumpet shaped flowers so I carefully pulled it out and then replanted in a pot at Alafua.

Incidentally both the Chinese violet (Asystasia gangetica) and Cardinal Firespike (Odontenema strictum) belong to the plant Family Acathaceae.

Pebble and Stoney have different techniques for getting their photos taken. Stoney is proactive in that the sees you taking pictures and then accidently wanders in to the frames using the "Oops I did not realise you were taking photos of the plants but I AM cute aren't I?" technique. Pebble on the other hand takes the "I am way too important and cute to have to go look for a photographer so I will sit here and strike a pose and photographers will gravitate to me" technique.
